Abstract

Hypertension is a condition when blood pressure in the arteries persistently increases, which can raise the risk of various diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke, kidney failure, and other health complications. This disease is often known as a silent killer because most of its sufferers do not experience typical symptoms until damage occurs to target organs. Hypertension is also one of the main risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, contributing to high rates of premature death in various countries. One of the efforts that can be made to prevent hypertension complications is thru health education activities. Health education aims to increase public knowledge about risk factors, prevention, and control of hypertension. Good knowledge plays an important role in shaping healthy living behaviors and increasing adherence to hypertension prevention and control efforts.. The Faculty of Medicine at Baiturrahmah University conducts community service activities every year, including providing education on preventing hypertension complications at the Ihsan Darussalam Mosque in Aia Pacah, Koto Tangah, Padang City.
