Islamic inheritance distribution concerns not only the transfer of ownership following a person's death but also has an economic dimension that may support asset distribution, household economic resilience, and productive enterprise development. This study aims to examine the implications of inheritance distribution for Muslim economic development from the perspective of maqasid al-shariah, particularly the protection of wealth (hifz al-mal), life (hifz al-nafs), and progeny (hifz al-nasl). This research employs a qualitative method based on library research. Data are collected through a review of literature on Islamic inheritance law, maqasid al-shariah, and Islamic economic development and are analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach. The findings indicate that inheritance distribution has the potential to broaden asset ownership, strengthen heirs' economic capacity, and create opportunities for productive business development. However, these benefits do not arise automatically, as they depend on the settlement of the deceased's obligations, the proper allocation of inheritance rights, the characteristics of inherited assets, financial literacy, and the heirs' ability to manage wealth. From the perspective of maqasid al-shariah, inheritance distribution in accordance with Islamic legal principles should be accompanied by productive asset management, protection of all heirs' rights, and the prevention of family disputes. This study proposes a conceptual framework linking inheritance distribution, asset management, and economic welfare. Accordingly, Islamic inheritance can be understood not merely as a mechanism of family law but also as a potential instrument for strengthening Muslim economic resilience and self-reliance.
